GLA:D (Good Life with Arthritis: Denmark)

Joel will be taking a GLA:D class every Tuesday and Thursday at 9-10am at our Kingston practice.

The GLA:D® (Good life with Arthritis: Denmark) program is a newly offered program at our practice that utilises the latest research in treating osteoarthritis through exercise. Osteoarthritis is a condition characterised by joint inflammation, pain and decreased function. Current research suggests exercise and improving function is the best first treatment for managing symptoms and improving quality of life.

The GLA:D program consists of exercises classes that aim to progressively increase strength and joint stability in order to help manage the symptoms of hip and joint pain. The program is tailored to each client’s ability and experience with outcome measure taken at the start of your journey and again at 3 months. The aim of the program is to get the client back to doing the activities they enjoy and reduce the need for invasive intervention such as surgery in order to management their symptoms.

The program consists of 12 classes as well as 2 educational sessions to further engage the client in the management of their symptoms. If you are interested in reducing the progression of hip or knee pain caused by Osteoarthritis under the direction of an experienced physiotherapist, please get in touch with our reception team to book you into a class.
