Gavin Malouf

Gavin graduated from the University of Sydney in 1992. After progression through the APA sports training program he attained the qualification of APA Titled Sports Physiotherapist in 2001.

Gavin worked as a Head Physiotherapist in professional rugby union for 20 years, holding senior positions with the ACT Brumbies, Connacht RFU, Australian and Irish rugby teams. Gavin is an enthusiastic clinical educator having supervised numerous physiotherapy students both here in Australia and Ireland. He has recently returned from Ireland where he worked with leading rehabilitation specialists and orthopaedic surgeons in the UK.

He is highly experienced in treatment and rehabilitation of elite level athletes in particular, knee, shoulder and groin conditions.

Rob Taylor

Rob completed his Masters of Physiotherapy in 2008 from University of Canberra after completing a bachelor degree in Medical Science at Australian National University.

Rob has worked extensively with elite swimmers and kayakers on the Gold Coast as part of the AIS satellite squads. During that time, he worked on high end rehabilitation of complex shoulder injuries. Rob has also a keen interest in rugby injuries having previously worked with the rugby seven’s Australian tournament, Eagles rugby club, touch football QLD and NSW and currently with East’s rugby club in Canberra.

Rob currently provides hands on treatment and assessment of Canberra Powerlifting, weight lifting and Strongman community. Rob has a particular interest in diagnosis and treatment of anterior hip pain and interrelationship with low back and pelvic pain.

Rob’s approach to treatment is that of a manual sports physiotherapist with a strong focus on rehabilitation of the individual with personalised strength and control programs.

Bradley Moore

Brad completed his Physiotherapy degree at the University of Canberra after completing a Bachelor of Medical Science at Macquarie University.

Brad played soccer at an elite level, representing the Central Coast Mariners and Sydney Football club. Having gained experience in an elite environment, Brad developed a special interest in sports injury and prevention, in particular, the rehabilitation of lower limb injuries.

Since moving to Canberra, Brad has worked with the Canberra United and Tigers FC NPL soccer teams and most recently, has taken up a role with the Canberra Demons NEAFL team.

Off the sporting field, Brad enjoys treating a variety of clientele and uses his extensive experience with high performance athletes to achieve the best possible outcomes for all of his patients.

Mitchell Ward

Mitch completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree at the University of Canberra. Mitch is committed to upholding the high level of professionalism at Canberra Sports Physiotherapy and Rehab and providing all clientele with high quality care, treatment and training. Mitch enjoys treating a variety of clientele, however is particularly interested in athletes and has a special interest in knee, ankle and shoulder injuries.

Mitch has a keen interest in a variety of sports, particularly rugby union, in which he plays for the Gungahlin Eagles and is the current club captain. He has represented the ACT at rugby in various levels. Throughout his degree, Mitch has worked with a number of different teams including Woden Weston FC, Gungahlin Eagles, Brumbies Junior Teams, Canberra United Academy and North Canberra Futsal.

Alice Churchill

Alice completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) degree at the University of Canberra. Alice is passionate about providing the best quality of care to patients through evidence-based practice and patient-centred care. Alice completed an honours thesis investigating how body morphology influences how the knee joint moves. She has a keen interest in sports injuries and prevention, in particular knee injuries, and orthopaedic rehabilitation.

Alice is a keen sportswoman, having played competitive team sports her whole life and representing the ACT in both soccer and futsal. Alice currently plays for Canberra FC in the Women’s Premier League and has captained the club for the last 3 years. Alice also plays futsal in the Women’s Premier League with North Canberra Untouchables Futsal Club. Throughout her degree she has worked with some of the junior Canberra FC women’s teams. Alice is currently working with Daramalan College The First 15 Rugby Team.

Joshua Friend

Originally from Canberra, Josh moved to Sydney to complete a Bachelors of Exercise Science, followed by a Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Technology, Sydney. Josh attended Canberra Grammar School and captained the first fifteen. He continued his passion for rugby playing for Sydney University and Petersham RUFC.

Whilst in Sydney, Josh maintained his interest in sport and Physiotherapy by gaining experience as an intern with Sydney City Roosters NRL side. He was able to observe first hand return to sport rehabilitation in an elite setting. Outside of work, Josh likes to keep fit with mountain biking and he is currently training for a marathon.

Professionally, Josh enjoys treating a variety of injuries and is dedicated to providing the best quality of care for all patients. Through firsthand experience, Josh has developed a particular interest in the rehabilitation of lower limb injuries and the treatment of overuse injuries.

Laura Reeks

Laura completed her Bachelor of Exercise Science, specialising in rehabilitation, at Charles Sturt University in 2016. Following this she completed a Certificate IV in Massage Therapy and a Diploma of Remedial Massage form the Australian Institute of Fitness. Laura has had extensive experience working with many sporting teams and athletes ranging from volleyball, swimming, netball and AFL.

Laura is currently in the AIS Centre Excellence Program for volleyball. She has also been a state team representative for both coaching and playing volleyball. Giving her experience in athlete management, team performance and training, injury monitoring and statistical analysis. Laura has a keen interest in injury prevention, rehabilitation and performance improvement.
